Woodgate Valley Country Park is a large country park located between West Boulevard near California and Clapgate Lane in Bartley Green.

The Bourn Brook flows all the way through.

It is on the no 23 bus route on Clapgate Lane, and the 24 bus route on Highfield Lane. Best to check Google Maps to find the way into the park from Barn Piece. Both bus routes go through Harborne towards Birmingham.

You can walk or cycle all the way to the gate on West Boulevard. Beyond here is another path that you can follow along the Bourn Brook towards California Way. This is part of the Bourn Brook Walkway which starts at Woodgate Valley and goes all the way towards Selly Oak.

History of Woodgate Valley Country Park
The Country Park was set up in 1984, and comprises some 450 acres it is the third largest Birmingham Country Park after Sutton Park & Lickey Hills Country Park, it is rural park with brook running through middle offers pony trekking, visitor centre and play area.

There is multiple different paths to take in Woodgate Valley Country Park. You can head left towards West Boulevard, or right to the Urban Farm and Hole Farm Trekking Centre. If you continue straight ahead, there is a Play Area, public car park and Visitor Centre.

You can follow the main path along the Bourn Brook which is suitable for cycling, or cross over the footbridges and walk up the dirt track through the trees, or cross back. Plenty of open space to walk your dog.

It's best to stick to the main path if you are riding a bike, or if you are walking, and don't want to get your footwear muddy.

Footbridges cross the Bourn Brook at regular intervals. The brook is shallow enough at certain times of the year for dogs to run through. There is even a path that bikes can ride through the water.
