Where is the Bournbrook Sports Pitches?

The Bournbrook Sports Pitches is at the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2TT. They are close to Aston Webb Boulevard.

 

In brief

The Sports Pitches at the University of Birmingham were rebuilt from 2017 to 2018. They were used for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games for hockey and squash.

Bournbrook Sports Pitches - development

The sports pitches were rebuilt starting from the summer of 2017.

By the winter / spring of 2018 the sports pitches were more or less complete. You could walk around them starting from the Bournbrook Pavilion.

Bournbrook Sports Pitches - details

There is two hockey pitches, ten tennis courts, and a football pitch for short sided football.

It is the home of Edgbaston Hockey Club.

Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

The hockey pitches will be used during the games, as well as for squash. Temporary seating stands are going up in the summer of 2022. The pitches will have a backdrop of the Joseph Chamberlain Memorial Clock Tower "Old Joe" and the Aston Webb Building (including the Chancellors Court).
