In and around Birmingham, there is so much to enjoy with great parks, open spaces, canals, nature and wildlife. There are so many spaces for people to visit and enjoy.
Birmingham is often referred to as being at the heart of Britain’s canal network. With over 100 miles of canals to explore, it’s easy to see why so take our feature and enjoy!
Weoley Castle is the remains of a fortified manor house in Weoley Castle, Birmingham. The ruins dates back to 1264.
The National Sealife Centre is situated at Brindleyplace in Birmingham, between Three and Four Brindleyplace, and near the canals. Opened in 1996.
At the busy Five Ways Island is a small public space with wonderful flower beds. Subways called walkways links the pavements to all surrounding roads.

Curtis Gardens is situated on the Fox Hollies Road in Acocks Green, Birmingham. Formerly the estate of Fox Hollies Hall (demolished in 1937).

The Kingfisher Country Park is located in East Birmingham and part of Solihull.
The Westley Vale Millennium Green is located in Acocks Green, Birmingham, not far from Acocks Green Station and the Grand Union Canal. A green space for the local community.
The Harborne Walkway is now a walking and cycling path from Harborne towards Summerfield Park in Birmingham. But was formerly the Harborne Railway line (which closed in 1963).
Selly Oak Triangle is where the Bristol Road meets Harborne Lane and Chapel Lane. Sainsbury's used to occupy the site until they moved to the new Shopping Park in 2018.

Acocks Green Recreation Ground was one of several pieces of land donated to Yardley Rural District Council by the Yardley Charity Estates in October 1898.
West Heath Park is situated in West Heath, Birmingham, between Staple Lodge Road and Rednal Road.
Arrow Valley Country Park is located in Redditch, Worcestershire.
Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens is located in Castle Bromwich, Solihull. It is near Castle Bromwich Hall.
Holders Lane Woods is in Selly Park and Moseley, Birmingham. With Holders Lane and Pebble Mill Fields, the route along the Rea Valley goes into the back of Cannon Hill Park.
Waseley Hills Country Park is near south west Birmingham in Worcestershire. Main entrance from Gannow Green Lane, Rubery.
Mill Lodge Park is in Solihull near Shirley. Also called the Colebrook Recreation Ground.
Earlswood Lakes is in Solihull. Canal feeder reservoirs to the Stratford-on-Avon Canal.
Newey Goodman Park is in Hall Green, Birmingham near the Stratford Road. Used to be a Recreation Ground / Open Space.
Olton Jubilee Park was opened in the 1930s to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of George V.
Langley Hall Park is close to Robin Hood Golf Club in Kineton Green, Solihull.
